Data Center Documentation

This is the Data Center edition of My User Manager. It runs natively inside your Jira Data Center (and Server) instance, with no external services and no data leaving your environment. For the Cloud edition, see the parent page.

đŸĸ What Is My User Manager for Jira Data Center?

My User Manager gives Jira administrators deep visibility and control over their users and groups, right inside the Jira admin area. It surfaces license usage, idle accounts, group hygiene, and per-user activity that Jira does not expose natively, and lets you export any of it to CSV.

One app covers both major platform lines: Jira Data Center 11.x and 10.x.

✅ What Can You Do Today?

Everything runs from three admin screens, all reachable under Jira Administration, User management.

🔎 Analyze Users

  • Run an advanced, multi-field search across user info, group membership, directory, and status (include and exclude keywords, for example "in these groups" and "not in those groups").

  • Spot idle and never logged in accounts so you can reclaim license seats.

  • See per-user activity and access data: groups, applications, directory, last login, and recent work item activity, in one table.

  • View charts for license usage and active versus idle users.

  • Export to CSV: either the full result set or only the current search.

đŸ‘Ĩ Analyze Groups

  • Filter groups by category: All, Active, Deactivated, Suspected, and Empty groups.

  • Quickly find empty groups and groups with no active users to clean up access and configuration.

  • Search group names (contains, starts with, ends with, and the negated variants), case insensitively.

  • Export to CSV, full set or current search.

⚙ī¸ Configuration

  • Set how often the app refreshes its data (the background scan that powers the reports).

  • Trigger an on-demand recalculation from the Analyze screens whenever you need fresh numbers.

ℹī¸ All screens are restricted to Jira administrators and live under the standard User management admin menu.

🔐 Secure by Design

The Data Center edition keeps everything inside your own Jira instance. All computed data is stored in your Jira database (via Atlassian Active Objects). Nothing is sent to an external service: not Atlassian, not AWS, not us. There are no API keys to manage and no dependency on the Atlassian Org admin panel.

A single app version ships a build for each line, so you install the same release whichever platform you run.

đŸšĢ Current Limitations

  • Reports are based on a scheduled scan, so the data is not real time. It refreshes on the period you configure (for example once per day). Use Refresh / recalculate for an on-demand update.

  • The current focus is on active Jira accounts. Broader account-status coverage continues to expand.

Yes. Both the Analyze Users and Analyze Groups screens export to CSV, either the full result set or just your current search.
No. It comes from a scheduled background scan. You control the refresh period in Configuration, and you can trigger an immediate recalculation from the Analyze screens.
No. The Data Center edition stores everything inside your Jira database. No data leaves your instance.
